Tell us about your work with seabirds.

I just finished my PhD on seabird vocal behaviour. What interests me most is how and why animals communicate, what information is carried by their vocal signals, and what happens to this signal over time, emotional situations, and propagation distance.

What advice would you offer to individuals aspiring to pursue a career as seabird scientists?

Find a team where you belong - your peeps should be helpful and uplifting, and if this doesn't work just easily turns into a nightmare. Remember that in the end - it's just a job.
