Tell us about your work with seabirds.
I monitor seabird nesting islands and beaches, counting colony numbers, nests, chicks and fledglings. I also participate in numerous conservation projects related to terns and pelicans, including band resighting and predator tracking.
What advice would you offer to individuals aspiring to pursue a career as seabird scientists?
It's a small community so never be afraid to make new contacts and always make a good impression. Learning how to operate a boat is a skill that will go really far in this field!
